Skip Counting
Skip counting is counting forwards or backwards by a number other than 1. Here is an example:

Forward skip counting by 3s:

1612, 1615, 1618, 1621, 1624, 1627,...

In this example, you added 3 to the first number (1612) to obtain the next number (1615). Each time 3 is added to the newly obtained number, the next number is identified.

Here is another example:

Backward skip counting by 2.5s:

8372.5, 8370, 8367.5, 8365, 8362.5...

In this example, you subtracted 2.5 from the first number (8372.5) to obtain the next number (8370). Each time 2.5 is subtracted from the newly obtained number, the next number is identified.
